Served as the Project Manager for the revision and development of online high school courses and credit by examination tests.   • Worked closely with Subject Matter Experts to glean information about the subject area and work out the look and feel of courses.
  • Task Master extraordinaire, a title earned for riding herd on the SME’s, programmers, student interns and center executives.
  • Managed my ISD projects like a project manager. I was responsible for getting information needed to complete projects on schedule and under a very tight budget.
  • Collaborated with Curriculum Director to brainstorm, define, articulate and implement curriculum and assessment-related strategies, policies, procedures, development processes, and production processes.
  • Served as backup for multimedia production team. Trained and supported K-16 Education Center staff in curriculum and assessment-related technology issues, including support for Educational Services, Testing, and Scoring.
  • Acted as liaison between curriculum team in Information Technology team to ensure computer/technical staff needs were being met.

 Project Management

  • Directed the redevelopment of 200 high stakes exams. I successfully re-engineered and guided the entire development process to bring it up to assessment industry standards. Resulting in setting the stage for the eventual transition computer based exam delivery.

  • Provided leadership in curriculum and assessment-related issues by constantly working to develop my skills in the needed areas, defining and articulating K16C policies, developing protocols and forms.
  • Served as the supervisor for The University of Texas Employee of the year.

 eLearning Project Management

  • Primarily responsible for the instructional content, appropriateness and adherence to current eLearning design principles as well as ensuring that courses met state and national content standards.
    • Skillfully laid out the scope of work for all courses so that they were aligned to not only the content standards revision cycle but also the textbook adoption cycle.  Most courses were well over 180 hours in length and took 2-3 years to develop.
  • Understood, supervised, and improved upon every aspect of the production model, including project planning, writing, editing, multimedia development, QA, and delivery. Cutting production time by 10 months.
  • Designed a quality assurance model that improved production quality by more than 50%. Ensured accurate project tracking, set project deadlines and successfully held all parties accountable for those.
  • Served as an integral member of the production team, where I mentored and managed a strong team of instructional designers and content developers, and programmers. 
  • Developed new course proposals, conducted pre-production research and grant writing.

 eLearning Development

  • Designed and implemented a quality assurance model for the production of online courses. Understood, supervised, and improved upon every aspect of the production model, including project planning, writing, editing, multimedia development, QA, and delivery. This resulted in a cut in production time by 10 months, and an 82% candidate completion rate.

  • Collaborated and worked in conjunction with the multimedia production team on design, development, production, and implementation of learning materials and assessments.
  • Reengineered the entire course development and revision cycles to ensure that production deadlines in sync with the state curriculum standard revisions cycles and textbook adoption cycles.
  • I also took on in-house writing projects and assisted other departments with post-production issues.
  • Coordinated the curriculum writers and editors and ensured the quality of the curriculum that exceeded the industry’s highest standards.
  • Developed with SMEs interactive case studies, learning games, and immersive simulations.

 Large-scale high-stakes test development projects

  • I had primary responsibility for the total redevelopment of the Kindergarten through Grade 12 credit by exam/exams for acceleration (CBE/EA).  http://www.utexas.edu/ce/k16/cbe-ea/exams-available
    • I successfully re-engineered the entire development process to bring it up to industry standards.   Setting the stage for the eventual transition computer based exam delivery. 
  • Designed and delivered the testing centers’ first Test Proctor Manual ensuring that exams were delivered correctly to ensure that exams were valid and reliable measures of student competency.
    • This included redefining the test development scope of work, building and maintaining test development schedules -both high-level external schedules and detailed internal schedules, and integrating them with the overall course revision plan.
  • Serving as the primary lead for test development issues, overseeing the SMEs and the staff responsible for exam development.
    • Successfully brought the content validity of the total bank of exams up to industry standards.
    • Conveyed test development status, participated in client meetings and internal team meetings, provided consultation services and materials on item and test development procedures to educate upper management on the intricacies of high stakes test development.
