Coordinated functions related to the implementation of the Texas Adult Education Credential Project.

  • Oversaw procedures for the scoring of teacher professional development portfolios and administrator portfolios used to award credit toward an adult education teacher or administrator credential. http://www.tei.education.txstate.edu/credential/
  • Expertly mentored adult educators and administrators who were pursuing an adult educator credential.
  • Developed a refined program evaluation methodology that included a major research study on the classroom level impact of the Credential.
  • A skillful and charismatic presenter, making frequent state, national and international public presentations on eLearning design and development as well as the Credential Project.
  • Supervision of a grant coordinator and a grant specialist. Recruited, trained and supervised portfolio scorers. 
  • Demonstrated solid instructional design, delivery and evaluation skills that met the requirements of the adult learner in both classroom and virtual learning settings.

 eLearning Development

  • Was responsible for the entire scope of creation for 4 multimedia web based courses – gathering requirements, writing content, and working through approval, designing and building the courses.
    • These courses were successfully utilized state wide by adult end-users with a varied range of skill sets and computer literacy; and had a completion rate of 82%.
  • Created all training materials related to the Credential and was particularly successful in ensuring that materials were in an approachable voice and format for the adult learners.
  • Redesigned the paper based Credential enrollment process to be totally digital and automated the in-house processing of the enrollment processes. Streamlining enrollment time by 80%.
  • Created and edited original web pages, graphics, multimedia objects, documentation, operating instructions, job aids and performance support tools for a wide variety of Credential related content.
  • Oversaw the coordination of distance learning programs to optimize the use of webinar and videoconferencing technology to encourage interest and secure program support for just-in-time learning opportunities.
  • Formulated and developed effective techniques for evaluating training programs and staying current on multimedia technologies to foster innovation and learner engagement.  
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in using instructional design models and adult learning principles.

 eLearning Project Management

  • Experienced in configuring eLearning applications and designing online courses for independent study, blended learning, on-site, instructor-led classes, and distance education programs.
    • Designed and developed for the online environment the Professional Development Planning Workshop, The Administrator Credential Introductory Activity and Reflection/Product Writing Workshops. I took convoluted technical documentation and used it to build quality training modules that only focus on the “need to know” information; and had a completion rate of 82%.
  • Experienced in Sakai based Learning management systems (LMS).
  • Redesigned the paper based Credential enrollment process to be totally digital and automated the in-house processing of the enrollment processes. Streamlining enrollment time by 80%.
  • Oversaw the coordination of distance learning programs to optimize the use of webinar and videoconferencing technology to encourage interest and secure program support for just-in-time learning opportunities.
  • Established and maintained a community social media presence for the grant on both Facebook and Twitter to supplement eLearning efforts.

 Grant Oversight

  • The Texas Adult Education Credential Project, Grant Coordinator, fiscal years 2009-present. Continuation funding in the amount of $336,000 annually secured from the Texas Education Agency for the development and implementation of performance-based assessments and a credentialing process for adult educators and administrators in Texas.
  • Administered data input, report generation, data integrity, usage, and documentation on system issues for the Credential project grant.
  • Supervision of a grant coordinator and a grant specialist.

 Project Management

  • Was responsible for the entire scope of creation for 4 multimedia web based courses – gathering requirements, writing content, and working through approval, designing and building the courses; and had a completion rate of 82%.
  • Designed and maintain a comprehensive database system that tracks Credential Candidates and the portfolio work submitted. 
  • Created new content for and maintained the Credential Project and the Education Institute web pages in a Sakai based LMS environment.
  • Developed the scorers training and standardized all materials for the scoring process.
  • Provided statewide oversight and quality control for the scoring process, and provided technical assistance.

 Training Experience

  • A skillful and charismatic presenter, making frequent state, national and international public presentations on eLearning design and development as well as the Credential Project.
  • Delivered on an ongoing basis the Professional Development Planning Workshop, The Administrator Credential Introductory Activity, Reflection/Product Writing Session and the Guided Writing Day Workshops.
    • These workshops are several steps in initiating the Teacher Adult Education Credential process and were required to be eligible to participate in the Credential. Designed to help teachers to consider new perspectives on professional development while being provided tools they can adapt to put ideas into action.  Teachers learned to be thoughtful and reflective about professional development experiences that they are learning in the context of their own classroom communities and their own teaching styles; and had a completion rate of 82%.
